WELL-KNOWN MANITOBA TEACHER TAKEN BY DEATH AT AGE 36

Gretna, Man. — Philip Giesbrecht, 36, school teacher to the Plum Coulee district, passed away in the Winkler hospital on Saturday, January 22, following a heart attack.

Mr. Giesbrecht was well known in educational circles in this area having taught here for some 12 years and having been on the executives of various teachers’ associations and district locals.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred Giesbrecht; two children; his mother, Mrs. Peter Giesbrecht, his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed T. Loeppky, Gretna; and seven brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27, from the Mennonite Collegiate Chapel here and burial was made in the local cemetery.
