MRS. OLGA D. GERIG

Mrs. Olga D. Gerig was born at Oxford, Ore. January 24, 1888. She moved to Sherwood, Ore. when 16 years old.

She was married to Nicholas Gerig at Sherwood on April 12, 1908, and four years later the couple moved on a farm near Pratum. She was a member of the Pratum Mennonite church.

She passed away at the hospital Sunday night, Jan. 27, 1952, at the age of 69 years. A patient heard her pray that the Lord would help her through the night, and when the nurse came to the bed she had gone to be with the Lord. Her death was caused by cancer.

The deceased is survived by her husband, nine daughters and one son: Mrs. Nina Williams, Mrs. Emma Gydesen, Mrs. Sarah Ditchens, Mrs. Goldie Gunderson, and Mrs. Dorothy Valdes, all of Salem, Mrs. Bertha Bell of Beaverton, Mrs. Martha Franz of Marlin, Wash., Mrs. Catherine Bliven of Dallas, Mrs. Lena Sabol of Ontario and David Gerig of Salem; 26 grandchildren, one great grandchild, her aged mother, five sisters and eight brothers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 1:30 at the Pratum Mennonite church with Rev. J. M. Franz and Rev. Wilbert Regier officiating. Interment at the Pratum cemetery.
