MELODY BETH GERIG

Melody Beth Gerig of Morton, Ill. died on Jan. 16 after an illness of one year. She was born on Oct. 30, 1954, the daughter of Ben S. and Florence roth Gerig. She reached the age of 12 years, two mots, and 16 days.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents; a brother, John; her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Nettie Gerig of Kalona, Iowa; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Roth of Morton.

Funeral services were held at 10:30, Wednesday, Jan. 18, at First Mennonite Church in Morton with the pastor, Rev. Clyde Fulmer, officiating. As the basis of his meditation he used thoughts from the sermon he had preached on the last Sunday Melody was able to attend the Sunday school and church services. Classmates from her Sunday school and public school classes served as pallbearers. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Melody was a member of the Sunday school, the junior choir, and the GSMA group of First Mennonite Church. She was in the seventh grade at Morton Junior High School, where she played the flute in the band.

Memorial contributions from friends and relatives will be used for Camp Menno Haven, Tiskilwa, Ill. Melody was privileged to attend camp for only two years, but those weeks meant much to her.

In our grief we cry that Melody was too soon taken from us, but our faith assures us that she is in our Father's love and care. We thank God for the joy she brought into our lives and service. — The Family.
