JACOB M. GERBER

Jacob M. Gerber, son of Mathias and Dinah (Moser) Gerber, was born in Wayne County, Ohio, Sept. 1, 1872, and died Aug. 18, 1955. Thus he attained the age of 82 years, 11 months and 17 days.

In his youth he realized his lost condition, accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, was baptized and became a member of the Sonnenberg Mennonite church of which he remained a faithful member throughout the remainder of his life.

On June 1, 1895, he was married to Lina sommer. To this union were born eight children, namely Susan, Mrs. David Welty, Hilda, Mrs. David J. Lehman, Eva, Mrs. Dan F. Amstutz, Elmer, Otto, Willis and Leo, and Dinah Barbara, who died in infancy.

He leaves his sorrowing wife, seven children, 27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Sonnenberg Mennonite church on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 21, by James Stauffer, Louis Amstutz and Simon Sommer.
