Pioneer Businessman Dies at Kidron, O.

Kidron, Ohio. — Funeral services for Elias P. Gerber, 84, pioneer business man here and a lifelong resident of this community, were held Feb. 22 at the Kidron Mennonite church. He died Feb. 19 at the home where he resided with his son, Glenford Gerber, and family after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Gerber entered the lumber and mill work business here in 1901, and later operated a hardware store. He retired in 1956, and since then had devoted much time to his hobbies of art and woodworking, writing and geneologies [sic].

Surviving are three sons, four daughters and 16 grandchildren. He was the last member of a family of 13 to pass away.
