WORKER MEETS DEATH WHEN CRUSHED BY HUGE SHOVEL ON EARTH MOVER

Toronto, Ont. — Funeral services took place here recently for Christian W. Gerber, a former resident of Wellesley, who was instantly killed while working for the Sheridan Equipment Company at Leaside near here.

He and several other workers were attempting to brace the half-ton shovel on a caterpillar earth mover when it slipped from the crane, pinning his head against the tracks of the machine.

The deceased is survived by his wife, the former Agnes Norman, and three daughters, all at home. He was the son o Pre. and Mrs. John R. Gerber of Wellesley.
