MRS. ANNA GERBER

Anna, daughter of David and Magdalena Bixler, was born Feb. 17, 1869. She passed away March 23, 1947, after a lingering illness, at her home in Sugarcreek township, Ohio, where she had lived during her entire married life. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in September 1939.

Her husband, Daniel P. Gerber, and five sons and three daughters survive. The sons are Alden, Grover C., Earl, and Oscar, all farmers in this community, and Daniel, the youngest of the family, who resides at Canton. The daughters are Clara (Mrs. Will Geiser), Ada (Mrs. Elmer Nussbaum), Tamar (Mrs. Adam Geiger), all of this community. Other survivors include 37 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, John of Kidron, Noah of Orrville, Daniel of Seville, and David W. of Bluffton; three sisters, Mrs. D. C. Hostetler and Mrs. Mart Moser of Orrville, and Mrs. David P. Lehman of Apple Creek.

Mrs. Gerber accepted Christ as her Savior in her youth, and was received into the Mennonite church, where she remained faithful until death. She was a great lover of flowers and gave many a bouquet to the sick and to friends. By her cheerful and friendly disposition, she won many friends.

Funeral services were held on March 27 at the Kidron church with Rev. Allen Bixler, Rev. Reuben Hofstetter, and Rev. Isaac Zuercher officiating. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.
