JOHN J. GASCHO

John J. Gascho, son of Jacob and Anna (Jantzi) Gascho, was born in Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada on Feb. 22 1886. He departed this life on June 18, 1959, [sic text missing in original] months and 27 days. at the Mio, Mich, Medical Center.

At the age of seven years he moved with his family to Minnesota, and at the age of 18 came to Oscoda County, Mich., where he spent the remaining 55 years of his life.

He accepted Christ as a young man and for many years had been a faithful member of the Fairview Mennonite Church.

He was united in marriage to Mary Miller on Mar. 12, 1908. To this union were born two sons and five daughters: Elizabeth, Mrs. Geo. Layman, Anna, at home, Edna, Mrs. David M. Troyer, Edwin, Edith, Mrs. Boyd Rogers, and Mahlon, all of Fairview, Millie, Mrs. Willard Bontrager of Mancelona, Mich.

Other survivors include a brother Aaron of New Hamburg, Ontario, two sisters, Mrs. Conrad Bender of Au Gres, Mich. and Mrs. Elmer Handrich of Fairview; 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, June 21, at the Fairview Mennonite Church, with Harvey Handrich and Menno Esch officiating.
