CLYDE GARBER

Clyde E. Garber, son of Leonard and Adeline (Grove) Garber, was born in Jackson County, Minnesota, on Nov. 1, 1898. He returned to his maker at the age of 68 years, 11 months and nine days while hospitalized at the University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, for a terminal illness.

He was married to Alma A. Zehr on May 10, 1922. She survives him. Additional survivors are two daughters, Carol (Mrs. John Birkey, Jr. and LaVonna (Mrs. Wayne Bohn), both of Manson; three sons, Eugene of International Falls, Minn., Irvin of Manson, and Daryl, New Buffalo, Mich.; one sister, Irene, (Mrs. Alvin Gascho), Harrisonburg, Va.; five brothers, Ernest of Lebanon, Oregon, Edd of Jackson, Minn., John, Lloyd and Marvin of Alpha, Minn.; and 24 grandchildren.

He was a member of the Manson Mennonite Church where he had worshiped for the past 45 years.

Memorial services were held at Manson Mennonite Church on Oct. 14, 1967. Officiating ministers were D. Richard Miller, Nick Stoltzfus and James Detweiler. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
