text of obituary:

MRS. HENRY H. GAEDE

Kate Boese Gaede was born on Sept. 25, 1893, at Inman, Kansas and departed this life at the Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, Calif. on March 24, 1958, attaining the age of 64 years and six months.

In her youth Mrs. Gaede moved with her parents, David and Katharina Boese, to Turpin, Okla. where she was baptized upon confession of faith and became an active member of the Mennonite church. On Oct. 28, 1913, she was married to Henry H. Gaede of Medford, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. Gaede lived in Oklahoma until 1922 at which time they moved to Shafter, Calif. where they have resided since that time.

The departed is survived by her husband, Henry H. Gaede; six children, George Gaede of Wasco, Calif., Harvey, Leonard, and Harold Gaede of Shafter, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Krause of Granada Hills, Calif., and Mrs. Hulda Stucky of Wichita, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Henry Boese of Clinton, Okla., Jake and George Boese of Waka, Texas, John Boese of Oildale, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Warkentin of Modesto, Calif. and Mrs. Martha Copenhaver of Pratt, Kansas. Two children and one grandchild preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gaede is remembered by her family as a kind, devoted Christian mother. Her friends well remember her strong faith in God her Saviour. This she has exemplified as a faithful member of the First Mennonite Church in Shafter where she served her Master joyfully. Her strong faith and hope in eternity gave her inward peace and courage so that she was able to cheerfully endure the suffering which accompanied her illness during the past few years. Now she has gone to be with Him who is the giver of life, and who gives life eternal.
