FORMER RESIDENT OF HILLSBORO DIED WHILE ON VISIT THERE

Hillsboro, Kans. — Jacob H. Funk, 73, of Drake, Sask., and formerly of this community, passed away during a visit here on June 27.

En route here by car with his wife and son Orlando, he suffered a light stroke near Freemont, Neb., but after a few days was able to complete the trip. He visited friends here for a few days, but suddenly became worse and died at the local hospital.

Brief services were held at the First Mennonite church, in charge of Rev. Arnold Funk, and the body was returned to Drake for final services and burial. Arthur Funk of Hillsboro is one of the six surviving children.
