JOHN FROESE

John Froese, son of Henry and Agatha Janzen Froese, was born Jan. 21, 1904 at Clinton, Okla. After failing in health for the past year, he suffered a fatal stroke on Sunday, Oct. 7, and quietly passed away at the age of 55 years, eight months and 15 days.

His early boyhood days were spent near Clinton where he entered school. In 1913 his family moved to a farm near Vinita, Oklahoma. In the fall of 1917 the family came to Inola, Okla. to establish their home.

At the age of 16, upon profession of faith in Christ, he was baptized into the fellowship of the Eden Mennonite church of Inola, Okla.

On August 21, 1938 he was united in marriage to Agnes Schierling. To this union were born five children: Edna Ann Terrill, Wilma jane, irma Elaine, Wesley John and Leona Mae.

The family lived on a farm near Inola until 1949. In September of that year they moved to Chouteau, Okla. where they reside at present.

He found great joy in helping with the music program of the church until his illness kept him from attending.

Surviving are his wife Agnes; their five children; two brothers, Henry Froese of Carey, Okla. and Gustav Froese of Inola; three sisters, Mrs. Waldo Funk of Inola, Mrs. Carrol Statum of Chouteau, and Mrs. Irwin Ratzlaff of Lamar, Colo.
