GERALD DEAN FROESE

Gerald Dean Froese, son of Abe and Eliz. (Friesen) Froese, was born Feb. 25, 1938, at Lamar, Colo., where he spent the first years of his life. He came with his parents to Kansas and settled in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1942.

The first six years of his life he was a healthy and a happy child. Gerald took sick in June 1945 with severe hemorrhages. In January 1947 he had his spleen removed, which relieved him for a short time. In May and August of 1948 he was taken to Kansas City, where he had two major operations. This seemed successful for a period of three years. In June of this year he hemorrhaged again and recovered for only a few months. August 18 he again became ill and was taken to the St. Elizabeth hospital where he soon went into a coma from which he never responded.

Gerald passed away Aug. 20, 1951, shortly before midnight. He was of a cheerful nature in spite of having spent so much of his young life in the hospital. Doctors, nurses and patients have been blessed by his singing and cheerfulness. He was especially cheerful and helpful during the last few weeks.

He went to Sunday school and the Busy Bee Child Evangelizing school when able to do so. Gerald attended the 4th Avenue and the McCandles schools for four years. He is survived by his parents, a sister Janet of the home, his half brother, Alvin Froese, two grandmothers, uncles, aunts and cousins and a host of friends.

Gerald will be greatly missed but we know he is safe in the arms of Jesus. We know that some day we shall see him again.
