DAVID E. FROESE

David E. Froese, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Froese, was born at Berdjansk, South Russia, Sept. 29, 1871.

At the age of five years he with his parents came to America, arriving July 1, 1876. They settled in Iowa Dec. 5, 1893. From there they moved to Kansas and after a number of years his parents moved to Texas, but he stayed in Hutchinson and worked in an elevator. He joined the First Methodist church of Hutchinson.

Later he purchased a home in Wichita, Kansas, and was employed at Red Star Milling Co. for 24 years. In 1939 he came to Cordell, Okla., living here for 12 years.

He came to Carnegie due to failing health and stayed with relatives. When his health became worse he was taken to the Western State hospital at Fort Supply, Okla. He passed away Dec. 20, 1950, at the age of 79 years, two months and 20 days. His parents, five brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.

Survivors are one brother, Frank Froese, of Temple, Okla., six sisters, Ida Hicks, lola, Kans., Cornelia Kiessener, Oklahoma City, Okla., Anna Pankratz, Cordell, Lizzie Pankratz, Reedley, Calif., Susie Pankratz, Winton, Calif., and Katie Pankratz, Selma, Calif. He was a loving brother and uncle.

Funeral services were held in the Greenfield Mennonite church on Dec. 25 by the pastor. Rev. C. B. Friesen, assisted by Rev. Arthur Isaac. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
