TINA FRIESEN

Mrs. Tina Friesen of Chilliwack, B.C. was born February 10, 1895 in Alexanderkrone, South Russia. Her parents were Johann and Anna Wall. She grew up in a Christian home, where she also learned to love her Lord and Saviour. At the age of nine she saw herself as a sinner and committed her life to Christ. Nine years later she followed the Lord in baptism and was added to the church

In May, 1921, she married John D. Friesen, who predeceased her on October 30, 1973. Since 1969 she had been in the Menno Private Hospital, Abbots ford. She passed away July 3, at the age of 79.

To the family, she was a pillar of strength. She lived her Christianity and introduced all her children to their Lord and Saviour. She leaves to mourn four sons: John and wife Anna of Yarrow, B.C., Peter and wife Anne of Vancouver, Nick and wife Susan of Vancouver, Jack and wife Marilyn of Chilliwack; three daughters: Mrs. Rudy (Katherine) Thiessen of Abbotsford, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Olson of Surrey, Magda of Chilliwack; 34 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends here, in Russia and in the U.S.A.

Funeral services were held July 6 from the Broadway Mennonite Brethren Church in Chilliwack. Pastor Henry Warkentin officiated, assisted by Rev. Peter Unger. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetary, Chilliwack.
