Mrs. Isaac Friesen

Inman, Kan., Jan. 4. — Mrs. Isaac Friesen, nee Maria Willems, was born Jan. 31, 1962, in Friedensdorf, South Russia, where she also received her schooling. In the year 1878 she came to America with her parents and settled on a farm west of Inman. At the age of 19 she was converted and united with the Bethel Church. In Jan. 3, 1883, she was united in marriage with Isaac Friesen. They became members of the Zoar Church.

She had been ailing for about 8 years at the time she suffered a stroke of paralysis. Last June she became quite ill and gradually grew weaker. On Dec. 23 she suffered another stroke and her left side became paralized [sic]. She passed away on Dec. 28 at 5:00 a. m., at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 27 days. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, 2 sons, 6 daughters, 24 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. One son and one daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held in the Zoar Church Wednesday afternoon. Rev. John Esau officiated and was assisted by Rev. C. Thiessen, Rev. P. H. block. The Zoar choir rendered a number of selections during the services. Rev. Klaas Kroeker officiated at the cemetery. — Inman Review.
