MARIA FRIESEN

Maria Friesen (nee Regier) was born Dec. 25, 1905 the eldest daughter of Abram Regiers of Wohldemfirst in the Caucasus, Kuban. She passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 1965. She lived to be 59 years and seven days.

She was married to Waldemar Friesen in Russia and a short time later moved to Canada with her husband. They arrived in Canada in 1926 and settled in the Main Centre area. She was able to enjoy over forty years of loving marriage during which time God blessed her and her husband with five children, three sons and two daughters. She was never very strong physically, undergoing major surgery in 1938 and again in 1963. She accepted Christ as personal Saviour and in 1950 was baptized and accepted into the Main Centre Mennonite Brethren Church.

The Lord has redeemed her from all her sufferings. Although she is sadly missed by the family they are happy to know that she is at rest with the Lord and they look forward to meeting her there someday.
