JOHN PETER FRIESEN

John Peter Friesen died July 11. He was born Sept. 10, 1920 in Warman, Sask. He accepted Jesus during Vacation Bible School conducted by Jake Epp and Peter Fast in 1935. He spent several years in a Conscientious Objectors Camp in Black Creek, B.C. He and several other men formed a quartet that served in churches in the area. He was baptized in 1946 near Warman and was a faithful member of Warman MB Church for 57 years. He attended Tabor Bible School in Dalmeny, Sask. where he also sang in a quartet. He taught Sunday school, was Sunday school superintendent, treasurer, song leader and in singing groups. He loved farming and animals. He liked to be well-dressed with suit and tie for any occasion. He married Sara Balzer Aug. 7, 1976. They sang together and travelled. He was predeceased by brother Harry; he is mourned by Sara, brother Jack; sisters Katherine Kargut, Helen Friesen, Anne Baerg, Elizabeth Fisher and Margaret O'Neill. The funeral was July 16 in Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Warman.
