Young Farmer Called After Long Illness

Mt. Lake, Minn. — John A. Friesen, well-known farmer of the Butterfield community, died at the Bethel hospital here Sunday morning, May 14 after a long illness. He was 43 years of age. Funeral services took place at the First Mennonite church north of Butterfield, Rev. M. M. Lehman and Rev. Paul Tschetter officiating.

Mr. Friesen had been active in the work of the Butterfield congregation, serving on the church board and as Sunday school secretary-treasurer. He was president of the AAA here for several terms, and chairman of the township board at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie, a daughter 11, two sons, 7 and 5, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Friesen.
