OVER 2,000 ATTEND FUNERAL OF MINISTER AT LOWE FARM, MAN.

Lowe Farm, Man. — One of the largest funerals ever held in this community was that of Elder Jacob Friesen at the Grossweide Mennonite church on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Rev. Friesen, minister of the Sommerfelder church, died quite suddenly and unexpectedly early Friday morning, Nov. 30, of heart attack. He was 52 years of age.

It was estimated over 2,000 people attended the funeral, at which Elder Peter A. Toews officiated.

Rev. Friesen was widely known, especially through his outstanding ministry in alternate service camps throughout Canada in the past few years. His wife and 10 children survive.

WELL KNOWN MINISTER PASSED AWAY

Steinbach, Man. — Funeral services for Rev. Jacob Friesen were held at the Kronsweider church on December 3, with Rev. P. A. Toews in charge.

Rev. Friesen died suddenly and unexpectedly from heart attack on Friday, November 30.

He is survived by his wife, 10 children and four grandchildren.

Rev. Friesen was well known here as also in the C. O. camps because of his outstanding service rendered there.

The funeral services were largely attended.
