FUNERAL SERVICES FOR REV. I. P. FRIESEN HELD AT ROSTHERN, SASK.

Rosthern, Sask. — Funeral services for Rev. Isaac P. Friesen, widely known pioneer of this community and minister of the Rosenorter congregation, were held at the church here Sunday, Jan. 6, conducted by Rev. J. G. Rempel, Rev. J. J. Thiessen and Rev. Isaak Friesen, a son of the deceased. A large crowd attended, with many unable to find room in the church.

Rev. Friesen died in Saskatoon, Thursday, Jan. 3, of heart attack.

He was born July 6, 1873, in Chortitza, South Russia, and came to America with his parents in 1875. He was ordained into the ministry in 1919 by Elder David Toews.

He traveled extensively and became known as a gifted writer. In 1910 he visited Palestine, which was for him an enriching experience. Rev. and Mrs. Friesen commemorated their golden wedding in 1948.
