RETIRED HENDERSON, NEB. BANKER CALLED BY DEATH AT AGE 89
Henderson, Neb. — George W. Friesen, former president of the Bank of Henderson and a pioneer settler here, died Aug. 26 at an Aurora rest home. Funeral services were held Aug. 29 at the Bethesda Mennonite church here.
Born in Russia, Mr. Friesen came here with the original Mennonite settlement group in 1874. He retired from the bank in 1933.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Marie; three sons, Anthony, Paul and Donald, all of Henderson; and one sister, Mrs. Marie Dick of Newton, Kan.
