TWO CHILDREN DROWN IN PONDS ON SUCCEEDING DAYS
Altona, Manitoba. — Accidental drownings claimed the lives of two children in nearby communities on succeeding days recently.
At Grossweide, two year old Carol Jane Braun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Braun, drowned in a farm dugout while the parents were working in the garden. Funeral services were held at the Brethren church there.
Cornelius H. Friesen, six year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Friesen, was swimming in the village pond with a playmate when air went out of the inner tube they were riding. The other boy reached shore, but help came to late to save the Friesen youth.
