MRS. EMMA FREYENBERGER

Emma Martha Oswald, daughter of John K. and Verena (Roth) Oswald, was born on a farm near Morton, Ill. on May 12, 1887 and passed from this life on Saturday, June 20, 1953, at 10:20 p.m. at the age of 66 years one month and eight days at the Mt. Pleasant Iowa Memorial hospital.

She moved with her parents while still a child, to Aurora, Nebr. and spent her youth there.

On Dec., 14, 1911, she was united in marriage to Elmer J. Freyenberger. To this union were born six children.

While in her youth, she accepted Christ as her Saviour, and united with the Pleasant View Mennonite Church at Aurora, Nebr. Later she transferred her church membership to the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite church. After her marriage, she lived in the Noble and Wayland communities.

In March it was discovered that she had cancer. During the weeks that followed she bore her illness patiently until she peacefully fell asleep.

She was a patient and loving mother and a loving grandmother to her grandchildren.

Those who preceded her in death were her husband, father, mother, one brother Joe, one sister Anna and one grandchild David,

Those who survive her are three sons, William, Robert and Edward; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Gardner, Mrs. Ruth Graber and Mrs. Ina Mae Eigsti; six brothers, Will, Daniel, John, Theodore, Aaron and Carl; five sisters, Mrs. Clara Krabill, Mrs. Mary Freyenberger, Miss Lina Oswald, Mrs. Katie Slagel and Mrs. Ada Repp; sixteen grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.
