ERNEST E. FREY

Ernest E. Frey, 72, of Davidson, N.C., died suddenly June 26, 1985, in Charlotte, N.C., following a heart attack. He was born Jan. 19, 1913, in Fulton County, Ohio, to Luke and Lavina Wyse Frey.

In 1961, he moved to Springfield, N.C., where he owned Northridge Home Service, offering well drilling, plumbing and heating. Water well drilling took him to numerous overseas assignments in Belize, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Venezuela and Algeria during the later 1960s and early 1970s. Each assignment allowed the Freys to minister to the domestic needs of yougn missionary families as well as participate in the ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; four daughters, Glenda (Mrs. Leon) Mast of Springfield, N.C., Marilyn (Mrs. David) Kay of Urbana, Ill., Suzanne (Mrs. Lauren) Yoder of Davidson, N.C., and Linda (Mrs. Richard) Shank of Charlottesville, Va.; three sisters, Lucille (Mrs. Roy) Nofsiger, Dorothy (Mrs. Roger) Waldeck of Wauseon, Ohio, and Shirley (Mrs. Marvin) Wyse of Pettisville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice G. Frey.

Memorial services were held June 28 in the Davidson United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held June 30 at North Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon, Ohio, with burial in Pettisville Cemetery.
