Edward B. Frey, son of Jacob J. and Sarah Heinrichs Frey, was born on March 19, 1896, at Goessel, Kansas, and passed away at his home in Dallas, Ore. on Nov. 12, 1960, at the age of 64 years, seven months, 24 days.

As a young lad he moved to Aberdeen, Idaho, with his family. It was there that he found the Lord Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior. He was baptized by Rev. Leonard Dirkson May 23, 1915, and joined the General conference Mennonite Church. He served in the Army at Fort Lewis, Wash. during World War I. During this time his parents moved to Dallas and he joined them there after he was discharged. It was there that he affiliated with the E.M.B. Church.

On Nov. 28, 1920, he was married to Marie Warkentin at Dallas and to this union were born three children. In 16 days they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

He was a loving father and grandfather and spent much time playing with his grandchildren.

He served as treasurer of the church for many years.

In February of 1955 he got sick and spent considerable time in the hospital. He submitted to lung surgery, from which he did not completely recover.
