MRS. ANNA WETZEL FREY

Mrs. Anna Wetzel Frey, daughter of Frederick and Kathryn Eve Wetzel, was born September 26, 1864, at Lafayette, Indiana. She quietly passed away Saturday evening, February 10, 1951, after two months' illness, at the age of 86 years, four months, and 14 days near Noble, Iowa.

She was united with the Lutheran church at Archbold, Ohio, and later transferred her membership to the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite church of Noble. At the time of her death she was the oldest member of the Eicher church.

On November 3, 1885, she was united in marriage with Joel A. Frey, who preceded her in death on February 21, 1943. Except for the first year of their married life Mr. and Mrs. Frey lived in Noble. Since the death of her husband she had lived with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Ricard [sic Richard], south of Noble.

She leaves to mourn her passing five sons, LeRoy and Carl of Burlington, Otto of Noble, Newton of Monmouth, Illinois, and Milton of Chicago; four daughter: Mrs. Frieda Rich of Winfield, Iowa, Mrs. Ruth Richard of Wayland, Iowa, Mrs. Kathryn Nicholson of Fairfield, Iowa, and Hattie of Washington, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; also a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, three brothers, one son, Earl, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on February 12 from the D. F. Richard home and the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite church. Rev. Leander Fast was in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. E. S. Mullet. Six grandsons served as pallbearers: Vernon Frey, Roger, Richard, Frederick Nicholson, Raymond Good, Everett Westen, and Floyd Reschly.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral included the following: Milton Frey of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Frey and Arlene and Rev. Wright of Monmouth, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. George Mundinger of Canton, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nicholson and family of Fairfield, LeRoy Frey and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Frey of Burlington, and Rev. Orlin Frey of Goessel, Kansas.
