GLADYS M. FRETZ

Gladys Martin Fretz, 76, wife of Stanley R. Fretz, died march 21, 1994, from a fall at home in Lansdale, Pa. She was born Nov. 14, 1915, in Lancaster County to Christian H. and Mary (Zobler) Martin. Stanley and Gladys would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November 1994.

She graduated from Millersville State Normal School and was an elementary school teacher for 44 years. She was an active member of Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale.

Services were held March 24 at Grace Mennonite Church with Gary Stenson officiating, assisted by her brother, Christian H. Martin Jr., and her brother-in-law, J. Herbert Fretz of Goshen, Ind. Burial was in Deep Run Mennonite Cemetery (West), Bedminster.

Survivors at the time of her death included her husband, Stanley R.; a daughter, Mary Lou Roush and husband W. Thomas of Lima, Ohio; three grandchildren; a sister, Ruth M. Martin of San Antonio, Texas; and a brother, Christian H. Martin Jr. of San Antonio.

Gladys will be remembered as an excellent teacher, gracious hostess and wonderful cook.
