text of obituary:

MRS. REGINA FRANZ

Regina (Jennie) Hamm Franz was born near Mountain Lake, Minn. on Sept. 17, 1887. She received her education at the Mountain Lake Bible School and also attended several terms at the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago.

At the age of 16 she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. She was baptized on her confession of faith on June 28, 1903 and united with the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church, then known as the Bruderthaler Church, at Mountain lake. She remained faithful to the Lord, serving Him in various capacities in the church as a pastor's wife, in Sunday school work, in missionary society activities, and by pastoral visitations. Upon her passing she was a member of the Grace Mennonite Church, Dallas, Oregon.

She was married to John M. Franz on Oct. 11, 1908. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last October. She and her husband moved to Oregon in 1923 after having served churches in Missouri, Canada, and Montana. The longest periods of service were at Pratum and Dallas, Oregon.

Their marriage was blessed by four sons, all living in Oregon. She is survived by her husband and sons, Rufus and Eugene, Ewald and Landy, both of Salem, and Arthur of Myrtle Creek, their wives, and 12 grandchildren.

Our mother suffered for some time with arthritic pains, and on last Dec. 3 she was stricken with a heart attack. She passed away on Feb. 7, having attained the age of 80 years, four months, and 20 days.

Among her favorite passages from the Scriptures was Psalm 37:5, which she quoted along with other verses many times: "Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him, and He will act." This thought was her fervent faith.

The influence of her life has affected many people. We are grateful for the blessings of having had such a wonderful and loving mother. — The J. M. Franz Family.
