ANNA L. FRANZ

Anna L. (Regier) Franz was born Jan 9, 1900, to Henry G. and Katherine (Loewen) Regier. She grew up on her parents’ farm located nine miles east of Buhler, Kan.

She received her education at District IXL School, graduating in 1915 . She helped her parents and enjoyed life with her five brothers and three sisters.

After attending revival meetings at the Alta Mill, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized by A. M. Martens on Aug. 27, 1916. She became a member of the Hebron Mennonite Church. She enjoyed attending Sunday school and worship services and singing in the choir.

She was married to Jacob P. Franz on Dec. 2, 1923. To this union were born four sons. Jacob and Anna spent their entire lives farming in the area surrounding Buhler.

When Jacob died in 1961, she continued to live on the farm. She entered the Buhler Sunshine Home in September of 1977.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons and one son. Those surviving are three sons, Albert J. and wife Lovella of Buhler, Norman W. and wife Carole of Dodge City and Milburn D. and wife Valeta of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law Esther Franz of Buhler; none grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
