— Mrs. John H. Frantz, 72, of Fairview, Okla. passed away Sept. 4. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Orienta, Okla. where she was a member of the Saron Mennonite church. She had three sisters: Mrs. J. J. Klassen, Mrs. P. P. Quiring, both of Goessel, and Mrs. P. J. Dyck, Buhler, and one brother, Henry J. Reimer, Canton.

MRS. JOHN H.FRANTZ

Mrs. John H. Frantz, formerly Katherine Reimer,daughter of John and Aganetha Reimer, was born May 2, 1885, at Canton, McPherson County, Kansas. She passed away suddenly at 4:30 in the morning Sept. 4, 1957, at her home in Fairview, Okla., attaining the age of 72 years, four months and two days.

On May 31, 1903, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Elder Peter Balzer, and received into the fellowship of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church at Goessel, Kansas. In February 1912 she transferred her membership to the Saron Mennonite Church at Oreinta, Okla. where she remained a faithful member until the day of her deatrh.

On Oct. 31, 1911, she was united in marriage to John H. Frantz, and for 45 years it was their privilege to share joy and sorrow. To this union were born five children, who are all living.

The parents settled on a farm near Orienta, where they lived until 1950 when they retired from the farm and moved to Fairview.

Mother was a loving and cheerful person. She was very fond of flowers and spent much time in her flower garden. She won many friends and enriched church services through her floral contributions. One of her great accomplishments was her recent 45-page composition on the geneglogy [sic] the Heinrich H. Frantz family.

She leaves to mourn her sudden departure, her husband Mr. John H. Frantz, who is ill and has been in the hospital for some time: three sons, Earnest [sic Ernest] of Woodland, Calif., Marvin of Orienta, Okla., and Milton of Fairview, Okla.; two daughters, Wilma, Mrs. Vaughn Costly [sic Costley] of Prairie Village, Kansas, Hilda, Mrs. Guy Parks of Fairview, Okla.; three daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Agnes Klassen and Mrs. Anna Quiring, both of Goessel, and Mrs. P. J. Dyck of Buhler; one brother, H. J. Reimer of Canton; and many other relatives and friends. three brothers preceded her in death.
