text of obituary:

WALTER M. FLY

Walter M. Fly, son of Joseph and Estella (Metzger) Fly, was born at Telford, Pa. on May 10, 1915, and passed away suddenly of a heart attack while preparing to attend church services Sept. 24 [sic Sept. 23], 1962, age 47 years.

Stricken with polio at the age of two, Walter was severely crippled for life. After the death of our mother 19 years ago, he made his home with his brother Harold Fly, and sister-in-law Mary. Although his understanding was limited, he accepted Christ as Saviour and united with the Finland Mennonite Church at the age of 19, and lived a devoted Christian life.

He spent much time reading Bible stories to his little nephews and nieces, who will always fondly remember him. We sadly miss him, but we know that our loss is his eternal gain.

He leaves to mourn his departure Mary and Harold Fly and their four children two sisters and two other brothers, Mrs. Paul Spachman of Souderton, Pa., Mrs. Ronald Cressman of Perkasie, Pa., Donald and Lawrence of Souderton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary and Alice.

Funeral services were held at the Souderton Mennonite Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
