EVA GOERTZ FLAMING

Eva Goertz Flaming was born on May 20, 1878, in Marion county, Kansas and passed away at an Enid hospital August 16, 1949, at the age of 71 years two months and 26 days. In her youth, she realized her lost condition without Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her personal Savior. Upon her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ she was baptized by Rev. Jacob Balzer, June 7, 1897, and received as member in the Alexanderwohl church. She loved the Lord and faithfully served Him to the end. She joined the Medford Mennonite church and attended as much as possible.

She was united in marriage to Abraham J. Flaming on April 14, 1901, and moved to Oklahoma in 1902. To this union were born five children of which one preceded her in death in infancy. Her husband died January 4, 1935, a daughter, Mrs. Anna Minsch, August 16, 1945, and a step-son Henry Flaming, October 30, 1944.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one son, Herman Flaming, Medford; two daughters, Mrs. Susie Goosen, Colby, Kans., Mrs. Agness Loewen, Paso Robles, Calif.; and five step-children, Mrs. Martha Unruh, Medford, John Flaming, Medford, Jake Flaming, Caldwell, Kans., Mrs. Marie Voth, Inman, Kans., and Mrs. Catherine Janzen, Medford.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren; two brothers, Pete Goertz of Newton, Kans., and Jake Goertz of McPherson, Kans.; two sisters, Anna Groese of Shafter, Calif., and Marie Schmidt, Peabody, Kans.; a sister-in-law Mrs. Anna Goertz, Medford; several nephews and nieces, and a host of friends.
