MRS. ELIZABETH FLAMING

Elizabeth Flaming, nee Wiebe, saw the light of day for the first time in the Hope Valley community near Hillsboro, Kansas, on Feb. 11, 1882. Her childhood and the days of her girlhood were spent in the parental home in the family circle on the farm.

In early childhood she responded to the moving of the Holy Spirit upon her heart and she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour; was baptized by Elder Jacob Wiebe on March 17, 1894, and affiliated with the Gnadenau K.M.B. church. Later she transferred her membership to the M.B. congregation. She remained faithful and loved her Saviour until the end.

On April 26, 1902, she was married to G. A. Flaming at the Gnadenau church. This union was blessed with three sons: Clarence, Elmer and Vernon.

She maintained a lively interest in the affairs of the Kingdom of God and the work of the church. She taught a Sunday school class for a number of years. She always bore a concern for the welfare of the church and for the salvation of the lost.

To the members of her family, she was a praying mother, a loving wife, showing concern for the welfare of all. Especially did she carry a concern on her heart for the salvation of those who were near and dear to her.

Life upon this earth for many years was one of pain, sickness and suffering. She passed through the agony of four major operations. Each operation afforded some relief but new ailiments [sic] set in making her trials continuious [sic] over a period of years. In it all she maintained a radiant faith in the Lord. She was taken to the Salem hospital in the early morning of April 30. After being there not many hours, she departed from us very quietly and peacefully. She attained to the age of 73 years, two months and 13 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, G. A. Flaming, three sons and three daughters-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Flaming, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Flaming, Hillsboro, Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Flaming, Bakersfield, Calif. In addition to the sons and the daughters-in-law there are five grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. Three brothers preceded her in death.

We mourn, but not as such without home. — The family.
