MOWER ACCIDENT TAKES LIFE OF LEVI FISHER, JR., OF INTERCOURSE, PA.

Bareville, Pa., Sept 16 — A sad accident occurred in this vicinity Monday of this week. Levi Fsher [sic Fisher], Jr., 17, of near Intercourse, had a team hitched to a grass mower. During his attempt to fix some strappings on the team's harness, one of the horses bolted and the team made a sudden dash forward.

The young man was thrown directly ahead of the cutter bar, and the machine having been left in gear, his body was severely cut and lascerated. He was dragged a considerable distance before he was extricated.

The only witness to the tragedy was a younger brother who was mowing with another team in the same field. The unfortunate young man was rushed to a hospital but died the same day. he was one of a group of applicants who were to have been baptized on the following Sunday, Sept. 17. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 14, and interment made in the Old Order Amish burial ground at Ronks. — J. B. F.
