JOHN ISAAK FAST

John Isaak Fast of Kamloops, B.C. passed away Apr. 20, following a heart attack. He was born Dec. 13, 1933 to George and Maria Fast in Yarrow, B.C. In his early teens he worked at various jobs, but his passion was to drive a truck. When he was 17, he started driving for Yarrow Freight and Fuel. He married Mary Klassen May 16, 1954. His spiritual journey started early. In his early 20s he recommitted his life to the Lord at evangelistic meetings led by P.R. Toews. He was baptized in 1954. When they moved to Kamloops in 1970, they joined a small group of believers which later became Valleyview Bible Church. He enjoyed reading and studying God's Word and was a prayer warrior. He loved the church and considered it a privilege to serve where he could. He considered his family a blessing and prayed daily for them. He is mourned by his wife; children Stan of Kelowna, B.C., Jim of Kamloops, Kathy Reimer of Calgary, Doug of Calgary and Terry Breck of Surrey, B.C.; and 6 grandchildren. The funeral was Apr. 25 in Valleyview Bible Church, with Reuben Pauls ministering.
