JACOB CORNELIUS FAST

Jacob Cornelius Fast, 65, of Leamington, Ontario, passed away at his home on December 5. The funeral was December 8 in the Leamington Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. A. J. Konrad in charge.

Jacob Fast was born in Tiegenhagen, South Russia on February 23, 1902, the son of Cornelius and Sarah Fast. In 1924 he emigrated to Canada where he settled first in Arnaud, Manitoba. It was in the same year that he was baptized and accepted into the membership of the Arnaud General Conference Mennonite Church.

On January 1, 1926, he was married to Anna Neufeld. The family moved to Ontario in 1937 and resided in the Leamington area up to the present. To mourn his passing, brother Fast leaves his wife, Anna; six sons, Jacob at Warren, Mich., Frank with the RCAF in Germany, George in Wheatley, Ont., Henry at Leamington, Bob at Windsor and Bill of Windsor; two daughters, Elsa (Mrs. Peter Koop) of Wheatley, and Helen (Mrs. Jay Koop) cf Leamington; as well as one brother and three sisters.

His sudden passing reminds us of the words in Psalm 90:12: "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."
