ANNA FAST

Anna Fast, daughter of William and Marie Hamm Fast, was born in Beatrice, Neb. on Sept.20, 1880. The Lord called her into His presence on May 13, 1960. She was79.

She was baptized by Elder Gerhard Penner on May 30, 1898, upon her confession of faith in Christ as her personal Saviour. She became a member of the First Mennonite church of Beatrice, Neb. Missionary Rudolph Petter preached the baptismal sermon, using for his text Rev. 7:15-17.

In 1903 the Lord called home her father, leaving the mother and two daughters. Anna and Marie were thankful for their loving parents who taught them to love Jesus their Saviour and provided a Christian home.

Because of Marie's illness, and according to her doctor's advice, the mother and the two daughters came to California in 1916. Anna, however, could never forget her first home in Beatrice and often expressed the desire to go back.

Mother Fast and the daughters joined the Willow Creek Mennonite church on Nov. 20, 1921. On Dec. 28, 1936, the mother passed away to be with the Lord.

Anna's quiet Christian life remained her testimony for her Saviour until the end of her life here. Many relatives and friends join tin fellowship with Sister Marie Fast in this time of bereavement.
