AGED MAN IS FATALLY INJURED

Death Claims South Dakota Man Who is Accidentally Injured

Dolton, S. D. — This vicinity was shocked to hear about the fatal accident of Abe Fast. As his son Ben was out in Sully Mr. and Mrs. Fast took care of the place. Wednesday as Mr. and Mrs. Fast took cobs over to their son’s place in a trailor [sic] and hit a pole which hit him in the abdomen. The doctor at first was of the opinion that the case was not a serious one. Later he took him to Mitchell where he was operated on Thursday and found that the pole had made a hole in the intestine. The children living here were all there Friday to see him and when barely back home again, were called to come to the hospital. But he was already unconscious when they got there and he died Saturday morning at 7:05. Mrs... Fast was always with him. His two sons in Montana were notified and also his brother Gerhard at Morse. Mr. Fast was 76 years old, a faithful member of the M. B. Church here, a good husband, father and neighbor and will be greatly missed. From: Freeman (S. D.) Courier.
