WELL KNOWN BISHOP OF BRETHREN IN CHRIST CHURCH DIED IN OKLA.

Thomas, Okla. — Funeral services for David R. Eyster, 88, well known bishop and educational leader of the Brethren in Christ church, were held at the Bethany church near here on Jan. 14. He died Jan. 11 after about nine years of failing health.

A native of Pennsylvania, Bishop Eyster came here as a young minister in 1895 and organized the local congregation in 1897. He was ordained bishop in 1907, and in 1909 became superintendent of the Jabbok Bible School.

The Bible school here grew out of an orphanage which was in charge of Abe Eisenhower, an uncle of President Dwight D. Eicenhower. The funeral services for Bishop Eyster were conducted by I. G. Engle of Westville, Okla. and Bishop Ray Witters of Abilene, Kansas, a first cousin of the President.
