MARY EWERT

Mary Ewert of Herbert, Sask. passed away Sept. 27. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Stuckle in Eureka, SD. Later they moved to Texas. She married Leonard Ewert May 4, 1916 in Bessie, OK. They moved to Saskatchewan with her parents, 1 brother and 1 sister. They homesteaded near Gouldtown, Sask: In the early 1930s they moved to Herbert to take care of her aging father. She was involved in the ladies hospital auxiliary and was a willing worker at many community functions. Her father and husband both died in December, 1952. She lived alone, but later moved to the senior citizens' home, the nursing home and Herbert-Morse Union Hospital. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters, she is survived by son Stan of White City, Sask. and daughter Elsie Wehe of Castro Valley, CA; 4 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren. The funeral was Sept. 30 in Herbert MB Church, with Gene White ministering.
