HELEN EWERT

Helen Ewert, daughter of Isaac J. and Anna Worms Foth, was born in Carson Township, Cottonwood County, Minn. on Sept. 6, 1897. She received her education at the country school, also in Carson Township.

On May 30, 1914 she was baptized upon confession of her faith at Eagle Lake by Elder Henry Voth and she was received into membership of the Mennonite Brethren Church.

She was united in marriage to Abram H. Ewert on Sept. 26, 1919 at the Carson MB Church. After their marriage, they farmed in Midway Township until 1969 when they retired and moved into Mt. Lake and have resided here since.

She was admitted to the Mt. Lake Community Hospital on Sunday, July 4, and was confined there until her death. She passed away early Friday morning, July 9, 1982. She attained the age of 84 years.

She leaves her husband, Abe; three sons, Clarence Ewert of Tyler, Tex., Wilbur Ewert of Salem, Ore., and Elvin Ewert of Forest Lake, Minn.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Anna Foth of the Good Samaritan Village in Mt. Lake, and one brother, Jacob Foth of Dallas, Ore.

Preceding her in death were one brother, Isaac, and one sister, Katharina.
