— Mrs. Peter P. Ewert, 62, of Hillsboro died at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital July 19 after being a patient here for over a month. Funeral services were conducted at the Brudertal Mennonite church on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Walter Neufeld officiating. Mrs. Ewert is survived by her busband [sic]; a daughter, Mrs. John Andreas; four grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters.

MRS. EMMA FRANZ EWERT

Mrs. Emma Frantz Ewert, daughter of H. P. and Anna Schroeder Frantz, was born near Orienta, Major County, Okla., on Feb. 14, 1898.

She received her elementary education in a rural school near Orienta and attended Meno Bible Academy for some time.

In her youth she keenly felt the need of a Savior, and at the age of 19 accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord. She was baptized by the Rev. D. D. Lohrentz on May 30, 1917, and was received into the membership of the Saron Mennonite church, Orienta, Okla.

On Oct.17, 1920, she was united in holy matrimony with Peter P. Ewert of the Brudertal Mennonite congregation, Hillsboro, Kan. She shared the joys and sorrows of life with her husband in this marriage relationship for a period of nearly 40 years. To this union were born two daughters, Hulda Annetta and Viola Mae.

On April 6, 1921, she transferred her membership from the Saron Mennonite church to the Brudertal Mennonite church whose faithful member she remained until the end.

In 1922 she was severely ill with typhoid fever which left its mark upon her health, but she recovered comparatively well. After that she did enjoy relatively good health.

In the last few months her health began to fail and on June 15 she entered the Bethel Deaconess hospital in Newton. here she passed quietly to her eternal home on July 18, at the age of 62 years, five months, and four days.

She was a loyal follower of Christ, always willing to help when asked. She was active in the Mary Martha circle, working faithfully in her tasks here. She was a kind and loving mother, always expressing with her acts of kindness her great love and affection for her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, whom she loved and served these many years.

She leaves to mourn her departure her daughter Viola and husband John F. Andreas; five brothers, two sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Brudertal Mennonite Church on July21, with Rev. Walter Neufeld officiating.
