MISS ANNA EWERT

Anna Ewert was born in South Russia, in Alexanderkron, on Nov. 9, 1881, and quietly passed on to be with the Lord May 9, 1957.

In Russia she was privileged to received her education. There also she had the experience of recognizing her lost and sinful condition, upon which she unreservedly yielded her life to God. In 1885 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith and recevied [sic] into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church. With this faith she continued even unto the end.

As a 19-year-old girl she migrated together with her parents to America. Their first home was in Mountain Lake, Minn. After a year they took up a homestead in Osler, Sask. The parents were poor and Anna's choice was to go and find employment elsewhere. For three years,1919-1922, she worked in the Hillsboro Old People's Home. After coming back to Langham she went west and worked in British Columbia. In 1949 she labored in Coaldale. Finally after many years of hard work she made he home in Hepburn near the M. B. Church. She enjoyed and was a regular attendent [sic] at all services.

Last December our sister made one more move when she left Hepburn to enjoy the fellowship and the convenience of the Dalmeny Home for the Aged. On May 7 she chose to visit her former home in order to regulate a few things, staying over night with the Regehrs. When the morning hours passed and our sister failed to appear, Mrs. Regehr upon inquiry found that she had gone to sleep, not to awaken in this world, but that the Master had called her on to her reward in heaven.

Our sister reached the age of 75 years and six months. Her parents preceded her in death, father in 1936 and mother in 1937. Two of her brothers died in early childhood and Elizabeth, a sister, in 1926. left to mourn her departure are her two sisters, Maria Rempel and Sarah Pankratz, both dwelling in Langham; one brother-in-law, H. H. Pankratz, seven nephews and nine nieces.

We are grateful to all who have in any way assisted in making our sister's life more pleasant. The Lord will surely reward. — The Bereaved Family.
