MARTIN H. ESHLEMAN

Funeral services for Martin Horst Eshleman, 86, of Park View, Harrisonburg, Va., who died April 2, were held Sunday, April 5, at 3:00 p. m., at the Weavers Mennonite Church. Rev. Glendon Blosser and Rev. Moses Slabaugh conducted the services and burial was in the Weavers Church Cemetery.

Mr. Eshleman was born on Nov. 3, 1883, at Smithburg, Md., the son of Daniel and Susan Horst Eshleman. He moved to Park View 32 years ago from North Lawrence, Ohio. He was a retired carpenter and farmer, and was an employee at Eastern Mennonite College for 11 years. He was a member of the Zion Hill Mennonite Church.

On Oct. 30, 1913 he married Ada Horst who survives him. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Misses Esther and Velma Eshleman, both of Park View, Mrs. Mabel Hess of Millersville, Pa., and Mrs. Bertha Navarro of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sons, James D. of Hephzibah, Ga., and Sam J. of Walnut Creek, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Mrs. Penrose Benner of Smithburg, Md. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Clara Harms, in January 1959.

Mr. Eshleman suffered a stroke in October 1966 and had been bedfast since September 1967.
