Leading Minister Dies in British Columbia

REV. H. M. EPP OF MT. LEHMAN, B. C. SERVED ON COLONIZATION BOARD

Mt. Lehman, B. C. — Funeral services for Rev. H. M. Epp, 54, minister and leader of the Conference of Mennonites in Canada, were held April 20 at the West Abbotsford church where he had been leading minister for more than a decade. He died unexpectedly on April 13, 30 hours after suffering a stroke of paralysis.

A native of the Molotschna, South Russia, Rev. Epp came to Manitoba in 1924 and to Mt. Lehman in 1945. He was a member of the Mennonite Board of Colonization and the Mennonite Central Relief Committee, and held various offices in the conference.

Survivors include his wife, eight sons, five daughters and 10 grandchildren. A son, Frank Epp, is editor of The Canadian Mennonite.
