text of obituary:

Abraham Enz.

Abr. Enz was born on July 4, 1861, at Neumuensterberg, Germany. Through baptism he became a member of the church at Fuerstenwerder. In the year 1880 he emigrated to America and joined the First Mennonite church at Newton, Kansas. On Aug. 17, 1884, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Kliewer who was called to her reward after they had lived together for 14 years. To them 7 children were born, 3 sons and 4 daughters. Of these 2 sons and 1 daughter died in infancy.

When 33 years old Mr. Enz met with an accident during the time of threshing which probably resulted in and necessitated his transference to the State Hospital at Topeka. He entered this place at the age of 35 and remained there for nearly38 years.

In August, 1933, he became sick and death finally came on June 8, 1934. He attained an age of 72 years, 11 months and 4 days. He leaves to mourn his departure, 2 sisters and his children with their respective families, who are: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Enz, Forest Grove, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Herman S. Voth, Goessel, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. John A. Reimer, Canton, Kans.; Mr. and Mrs. William Unruh, Goessel, Kans. We hope for a blissful reunion in heaven where all earthly imperfections will be changed into eternal glory.

No way so long but it finds its goal,
No path so steep for the struggling soul,
But gains at last the mountains crest
With vision bright and well-earned rest.
