Henry R. Ensz

Henry R. Ensz, 77, 710 E. 4th, owner of Ensz Real Estate, died Tuesday afternoon at Bethel Deaconess Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Bethel College Mennonite Church with the Rev. John Esau and the Rev. Don Kaufman co-officiating. Newton Masonic Lodge 142 AF & AM, will conduct graveside services in Greenwood Cemetery. William J. Hrovat will be the lecturer.

He was born May 19, 1902, at Halstead, the son of John A. and Ida Kliewer Ensz. On Aug. 29, 1928, he married Olga E. Richert. He had lived in Newton since 1918.

He was a member of the Bethel College Mennonite Church and a 50-year member of the following: Newton Masonic Lodge 142, AF & AM; Arkansas Valley Chapter No. 27, Royal Arch Masons; Wichita Council No. 12, Royal and Select Masons; Past Commander of Newton Commandery No. 9, Knights Templar; Scottish Rite bodies of Wichita, and Newton Chapter No. 5, Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by one son, Roland H., Potwin; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sara Marie, who died March 10, 1955, two brothers, Walter and Herbert, and a sister, Alma.

Friends may call at Draper-Cannon Funeral Home this evening and all day Thursday and Friday. Memorials have been established for the Mennonite Central Committee or for the Heart Fund. Contributions may be left with the staff at the funeral home.
