Young Carpenter Fatally Injured While at Work

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR DICK ENSZ HELD AT ZOAR LAST SUNDAY

Funeral services for Dick Ensz, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Ensz of Inman, Kansas, were held last Sunday afternoon at the Zoar church southwest of Inman. Mr. Ensz, a young carpenter, was fatally injured Monday, Sept. 26, when he fell from a scaffold.

The Inman Review gives the following report of the tragedy:

Dick Ensz, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Ensz, passed away at Southwestern Hospital in Wichita on Wednesday evening at 8:45 at the age of 21 years.

Dick was internally injured Monday afternoon when he fell from a nine foot scaffold while at work with j. J. Klassen in wrecking a shed on a barn near Durham. He has been doing carpenter work with Mr. Klassen since March. He was so severely injured that his chances for recovery were doubtful from the start. He was first taken to a hospital in Hillsboro, and later moved to the hospital in Wichita. He fell on his abdomen and was severely crushed.
