FOURTH DEATH FROM INFANTILE PARALYSIS IN WINKLER VICINITY
Winkler, Manitoba. — Funeral services were held at the Sommerfelder church, Osterwick, on Aug 7 for Peter Elias, seven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Elias who died Aug. 4 of poliomyelitis His death was the fourth attributed to the disease in this district this year.
There were 16 polio patient confined to the local hospital at the end of July and a total of about 60 cases in the community. While the area is not officially quarantined, health authorities are discouraging travel in and out of the district.
